Dan Siegel: ‘Applying interpersonal neurobiology to clinical technique’

Mindfulness

This 2-day seminar follows on from the very successful seminar given by Dr Siegel in London earlier this year entitled ‘Why Psychotherapy Works‘.

The purpose of this seminar is to demonstrate and teach ways in which clinical assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic intervention can be applied using the fundamental scientific principles of interpersonal neurobiology.

The programme includes sessions entitled

- How do clinicians approach assessment using mindsight and integration?

- Using the power of awareness and attention to catalyze neural integration

- The function of relationship in neural integration

- Transformation: interpersonal and temporal domains of integration

Dr Dan Siegel is currently a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, where he is also on the faculty of the Center for Culture, Brain and Development and the Co-Director of the Mindful Awareness Research Centre. He has written a number of books on neuroscience, including The Mindful Therapist: A Clinician’s Guide to Mindsight and Neural Integration, The Developing Mind: How Relationships and the Brain Interact to Shape Who We Are and The Mindful Brain in Human Development: Reflection and Attunement in the Cultivation of Well-being (all available from Amazon)

The seminar will be of interest to psychotherapists, psychiatrists and anyone interested in the application of neuroscience to therapeutic technique.
